Leveraged to Silver, Kootenay Is Working Towards a Maiden Resource at Its Columba Project

Kootenay’s President & CEO, James McDonald joins GoldSeek TV in Zurich to talk about the company’s portfolio of silver projects and the big discoveries taking place at its Columba silver project, which is being advanced towards its maiden resource.

Jim McDonald shares more on the current state of Kootenay Silver:

The Columba Silver project is giving off excellent results, incredible grades and thickness. It is a new vein district and we are hitting consistently hole after hole. Grades are hitting significant silver intercepts. The district itself has a 100 million silver ounce potential and maybe even multiples of that. These vein districts usually have a few key vein structures which hold the vast majority of everything and for us, the D-vein is going to be that for us, we are pretty sure. We are hitting consistently including 98 meters of over 200 grams and hitting the vein consistently over 700 meters and it remains open at depth.

Kootenay has drilled already 30,000 meters at the start of this year (2024) and drilling 20,000 meters currently under the current program, this will give us about 200 holes and this should be enough for a maidan silver resource. Our anticipation is for an initial resource of 50 million silver ounces and expectation is for much more.

Collectively, Kootenay Silver holds over 1/4 billion ounces of silver resources (measured and indicated plus inferred) from their other projects, plus what will be added from the Columba project. Last year Kootenay updated resources on their other projects, enhancing the value of the silver deposits with potential to expand the size and ready to move forward when the silver market revives.
