Tara Christie, the CEO and President of Banyan Gold Corp., joins GoldSeek TV in Zurich to talk about their world-class gold project (AurMac) with seven million ounces of gold and growing!
How old and big is this gold discovery? It was a brand-new discovery made in 2019 underneath a powerline and besides a highway. This led to the first gold resource of 900K gold ounces and now five years later, the company continues to develop the size of the project to seven million gold ounces – a very rapid progression!
The seven-million-ounce gold resource at the AurMac Gold project, located in the central Yukon, is Canada’s newest and fastest growing mining districts. Tara gives us a breakdown of the three deposits at the AurMac Gold project and what upsides are left at: Airstrip, Powerline and the Aurex Hill Zones (which are now connected)
The company is now looking at different processing options, looking at the metallurgy to see what potential scenarios exist for starting development at a higher-grade gold deposit, like Airstrip as the Banyan Gold looks to complete a PEA in the coming year.
The 300 square kilometer land package has a lot left to explore, I ask Tara Christie about testing other targets, the constraints of the project and what the company is looking forward to completing in 2025.
How unique is this world-class gold discovery (5-million+ gold ounces)? Tara shares how significant it is to have the location of this project next to key infrastructure and what might attract a major gold mining company as the industry struggles to replace large gold deposits.
Tara Christie also discusses the rockslide failure at the Victoria Gold’s Eagle mine, and how that relates to Banyan Gold – this was a heap-leaching accident and if our project is not going to be looking at heap-leaching, then it should not change the process of permitting and mining development.
