Ukraine peace talks and related developments will impact the trend of precious metals and base metals. Momentum and sentiment are bullish for gold and silver. Copper is getting support from positive news from China. Most hedge funds have increased targets for Chinese stock indices. There is a sense that the stalled Chinese property sector will start to grow this year. There are more positives for non-ferrous metals than negatives. We just might see merger-acquisition-demerger activities globally in metal corporations. This could be the hottest space for investment.
March month will be a real test for the continuation of the short-term bullish trend in gold. February nonfarm payrolls on 7th March, followed by a Federal Reserve meeting on 19th March, and quarter-end position squaring and rebuilding will test the short-term bullish trend in gold. Silver’s demand fundamentals make me prefer to use all the price corrections (in March month) to invest. A lot of so-called “Trump Trade Wars” clarity will be there. The economic impact of the “Trump Trade Wars” will be clearer.
My suggestions will be to avoid taking excessive risks on short-term trades and intraday trades. Sit on cash. Use breakout and breakdown technical trading strategies (with strict higher trailing stop loss) for trades and short-term investments. March till mid-April will give ample profit-making opportunities to short-term investors, day traders, and medium-term investors. It is all about risk-taking! Isn’t it?
